Signs of worn suspension

  • Bouncy, floaty ride that doesn't settle quickly after a bump
  • Nose-dives when braking, leans heavily in turns
  • Clunking, knocking, or rattling over bumps
  • Uneven tire wear (cupping)
  • Vehicle sits lower on one corner
  • Visible oil leaking from shocks or struts
  • Steering wandering or imprecise

Why suspension matters more than you think

Suspension isn't just about comfort — it's about safety. Worn shocks and struts increase your stopping distance, reduce traction in corners, and make your vehicle more likely to lose control on rough roads. They also accelerate wear on tires, brakes, and other suspension components.

When to replace shocks and struts

Most manufacturers consider 80,000 to 100,000 km a reasonable service life for shocks and struts, but Ottawa roads can shorten that significantly. If you've never replaced them and your vehicle has more than 80,000 km, ask us for a check during your next visit.

What we service

  • Shock absorber replacement
  • Strut replacement (including spring assemblies)
  • Coil and leaf spring replacement
  • Sway bar links and bushings
  • Control arm bushings and ball joints
  • Tie rod ends
  • Strut mounts and bearings

After most suspension work, an alignment is required. We do that in-house — no need to visit two shops.
